Guidestone Colorado is a Chaffee County-based, 501c3 nonprofit dedicated to growing a vibrant agricultural future through education, community building and partnerships. We serve our local community and the statewide agriculture community through our four cornerstone programs: Farm to School, Farmhands Education, Colorado Land Link, and the Hutchinson Homestead & Learning Center.
The Farm to School Program fosters garden education at two school gardens and the Community &
School Farm, and grows produce for Salida School District, ensuring access to local produce in school meals. Guidestone’s food production activities also include growing food for the Heart of the Rockies Regional Medical Center, supporting area CSAs and community members in growing and purchasing local food, and working with community partners on food distribution.
Guidestone’s additional food system work in Chaffee County includes implementing and participating in the Chaffee Local Food Coalition, partnering with City of Salida on their Community Garden Program, and serving as a partner on several regional food system collaborations.
